FAQ
The quick read.
Everything you'd ask, answered in a line or two.
Is there any real money involved?+
Never. Covenant Pools is a free entertainment product. Players wager virtual league points only — no cash value, no purchase path, and no withdrawal of any kind.
What can I bet on?+
Exactly two things: point spreads and totals (over/under). There are no moneylines, parlays, props, or fantasy rosters. That discipline is the point.
Where do the lines come from?+
Spreads and totals are pulled from live sports data providers. If a feed is unavailable or wrong, your commissioner can override any spread, total, or final score so a bad feed never blocks a week.
How are wagers settled?+
Automatically when a game goes final. Spreads cover, totals grade over/under, and pushes return the stake. There is no human hand on the result.
What happens when a game kicks off?+
Wagering closes automatically at kickoff. A countdown appears in the hour before lock, and the row is disabled after.
How do points work?+
Each manager starts with a commissioner-set balance. A wager risks an amount to win the same amount (no juice by default), with a push returning the stake. The commissioner can optionally switch a league to a -110 juice model.
Can I be in more than one league?+
Yes. Every manager keeps a separate points balance and record in each league they join, with a persistent league switcher in the nav.
What powers does the commissioner have?+
The commissioner sets balances and limits, invites and removes members, adjusts balances with a logged reason, voids or re-grades wagers, overrides lines, and exports or archives the season.
Are balances and grades transparent?+
Completely. Every balance change — wagers, grades, and commissioner adjustments — writes to an immutable, timestamped ledger every member can see.
Does this work on mobile?+
Yes, and it's designed mobile-first. Most managers place wagers minutes before kickoff, so the games board is a compact single-column table with a sticky wager slip on phones.
